If Maui is the last Hawaiian place; then Kipahulu is the rare gem, nested in its very heart. Surrounded by Haleakala National Park lands, just south of Hana town, Kipahulu is secluded, pristine and vibrant. The local community holds a deep appreciation for the wild places, taro patches and farmlands that sustain it. Our retreat setting is perched along a verdant coastline, on a beautifully tended property, overlooking the Alenuihaha channel, within walking distance from beaches, waterfalls, and the local fruit stand-coffee house. Here, the sound of the ocean tumbling over beach stones lulls you to sleep at night, and the scent of wild ginger and ylang ylang waft through your dreams.

Your Facilitators...

Erin Lindbergh, C.Y.T.

Yogini, gardener and songbird

Erin has taught yoga for over twenty years. Raised in rural Montana, her practice innately draws upon the rhythms and elemental forces of the natural world. Rooted in the Iyengar tradition, her yoga background emphasizes postural alignment and sequencing, for people in all seasons of life. She has traveled widely, and studied movement, healing arts and ritual performance, which influence her personal style;

Inner Landscape Yoga. Erin encourages a subtle and organic exploration of postures. Breath, sound, and descriptive metaphor become navigational tools for transformation and healing. The student is guided through movement sequences, designed to cultivate inward presence; an awareness of their inner landscape.

Ultimately, this presence, is an embodiment of the natural self, which can be expressed outwardly with compassion and love in the world.

Leah Lamb, MSW

Writer and storyteller

Leah studied at the Neighborhood Playhouse in NYC, and with many masters of story in theater, film, and the ancient art of storytelling. She worked with youth at risk for seven years in the wilderness. Her storytelling spans the mediums of launching the emmy award winning television network, Current TV, writing for Fast Company, National Geographic News Watch, Planet Green and Huffington Post. Lamb combines this experience with her studies with many metaphysical practitioners, and a year long training in the 13 moon mystery school. Her stories hold the resonance of connection with the earth, the universe, animals and spirit. She is in the process of completing her first novel, The Whale Dreamer.

Ultimately, her work is about helping people understand the power of story in their life, and reconnecting to the natural world.

"When Leah first shared Soul Stories with me, I understood exactly what she is doing: she is a story oracle. Leah has a rare gift of using the ancient art of story telling as a healing art. With intelligence, depth, and a dash of playfulness she wove a story and created meaning of the metaphor so that I was able to receive a mythical version of myself, revealing some of the deepest truths that were alive in my unconscious.  Soul Stories serve as yet another tool to connect to the divine self. It is an opportunity not to be missed!

-Marci Shimoff,  Speaker &Author, "Happy for No Reason", "Love For No Reason", and "Chicken Soup for the Woman's Soul"

"I am inspired by Erin Lindbergh’s special form of Yoga—as it may have been intended originally—letting breath movement flow naturally through yoga postures.  She offers examples of how our natural human nature can meet natural nature.  In her classes I sense myself embodied—a state of oneness in body, mind, and spirit—a piece of art.  I love the ending of her classes when she adds a personal touch through her poetic voice, chanting, singing. My experience in Erin’s classes prepare me for moving into life outside the yoga room in a lovely way."

-Margot Biestman, Middendorf Breathexperience teacher, artist and author

"Erin unites Yoga with Aloha. Her practice connects people to their inner self, the land, aina and the sky, lani. Her gentle, sweet voice of guidance combined with the singing bowl is nectar to the god of Maui."

-Allen Greenfield, Artist

"Leah lives in story, it resonates in her being – as a teller, as a writer/thinker, as an activist/world changer, as a contemporary artist rooted in the ancient. She knows the alchemy of myth and the miracle of life, and the tangible magic of language performed."

-Joe Lambert, Founder, Center for Digital Storytelling
